Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking moving services with N-Cal Movers. By scheduling a move, placing a deposit, signing an estimate, or allowing services to begin, the customer agrees to the terms below.
Services
N-Cal Movers provides local and/or long-distance moving services, including loading, transportation, unloading, packing, and related services as agreed in writing. All estimates are based on the information provided by the customer, including inventory, addresses, access conditions, stairs, elevators, parking, and required services.
Final charges may change if additional items, packing materials, long carry, stairs, elevator delays, shuttle service, waiting time, storage, or other additional services are required.
Booking, Deposit & Cancellation
A deposit may be required to reserve the move date, truck, and crew. The deposit is applied toward the total cost of the move unless otherwise stated in writing.
Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing to ruvem@ncalmovers.com or by calling (916) 999-9469.
If the customer cancels or reschedules more than 7 business days before the scheduled move date, the deposit may be refundable. If cancellation occurs less than 7 business days before the move date, the deposit may be non-refundable or issued as a credit for future moving services. If the truck and crew have already been dispatched or arrived, no refund will apply.
Payment
Payment terms will be listed in the estimate or invoice. Accepted payment methods may include cash, credit/debit card, Zelle, money order, or wire transfer.
For local moves, the remaining balance is due upon completion of services. For long-distance moves, payment may be required in stages: deposit at booking, partial payment at pickup, and remaining balance before unloading at delivery.
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information, confirming addresses, securing parking, reserving elevators, obtaining building approvals, and being available at pickup and delivery.
All drawers, cabinets, refrigerators, and appliances must be emptied before the move. Utilities and appliances must be disconnected before movers arrive. N-Cal Movers does not disconnect or reconnect gas, water, electrical, plumbing, or built-in appliance systems.
Packing
Unless packing service is included, the customer is responsible for packing boxes and fragile items. Fragile items include glass, mirrors, marble, electronics, TVs, artwork, dishes, and similar items.
Packing materials such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, mattress covers, TV boxes, and mirror boxes are not included unless stated in writing and may be charged separately.
For health and safety reasons, mattresses, box springs, and futons must be properly protected. Plastic bags and loose items may not be accepted for transport.
Items We Do Not Move
N-Cal Movers does not transport hazardous, illegal, dangerous, or high-value personal items, including firearms, ammunition, gasoline, propane, paint, chemicals, jewelry, cash, bank documents, prescription medication, pets, plants, perishables, or items of extraordinary value unless approved in writing.
Customers should personally transport valuables, documents, medication, and irreplaceable items.
Parking, Stairs & Access
The estimate is based on normal access conditions. Additional charges may apply for stairs, long carry, elevator delays, parking issues, shuttle service, waiting time, or limited truck access.
The customer is responsible for arranging legal parking and any required permits. Parking tickets, building fines, towing fees, or access-related charges may be billed to the customer if caused by unavailable or improper parking arrangements.
Certificate of Insurance
Some buildings require a Certificate of Insurance before movers are allowed to enter. The customer must check with building management before the move date and notify N-Cal Movers in advance. Additional fees may apply depending on building requirements.
Delivery Schedule
Pickup and delivery times are estimates only unless guaranteed service is purchased and confirmed in writing. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, road conditions, mechanical issues, building restrictions, customer delays, or other circumstances outside the company's control.
Liability & Valuation
N-Cal Movers' liability for loss or damage is limited according to the valuation option selected by the customer and applicable law. Basic liability coverage may be limited and may not equal the actual value of the item.
N-Cal Movers is not responsible for damage to items packed by the customer unless there is clear evidence of mover negligence. Liability may be limited for fragile items, pressed wood furniture, previously damaged items, loose items, and items not properly packed.
Customers are encouraged to purchase third-party moving insurance for high-value or fragile belongings.
Claims
Any claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, or property damage must be submitted in writing with photos, description, inventory information, proof of ownership, and proof of value.
All damages or missing items must be reported as soon as possible and noted before the movers leave whenever possible. Claims are subject to applicable law, company policy, and full payment for services rendered.
Agreement
By booking services, placing a deposit, signing moving documents, or allowing N-Cal Movers to begin work, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
